Programme Of Activities Towards Full Political Rights

The ECI demanding full political rights for EU citizens finished collecting signatures in June 2022, but our partners urge us to keep the “Voters Without Borders” (VWB) brand alive. There is also support in the European Parliament since the Petitions Committee, which heard ECIT and VWB in September 2022, has referred the initiative to the AFCO Committee. Can we persuade this powerful committee on constitutional affairs to take up the ECI and turn it into its own legislative proposal? In this programme, we advocate follow-up measures including the organisation of a symbolic election in 12 cities to transnational lists for a European constituency and a new attempt at the ECI in the run-up to the 2024 European elections.
