Public Opinion and European Citizenship

Resources on public opinion and European Citizenship

Eurobarometer polls are the best source with a dedicated website showing how attitudes change over time, by country or by socio-economic group.

64% of participants identify themselves as somehow being European citizens and there is evidence of knowledge of European rights improving over time. There is however insufficient in-depth qualitative research on attitudes to European citizenship covering EU-28.
