GETTING READY FOR THE 2019 EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS

Appeal to make European Union Citizenship coherent, strong and inclusive

The European situation is profoundly paradoxical. Transnational citizenship is surpassing expectations whilst, at the same time, a broader nationalist wave is sweeping Europe.

In the manifesto below, we appeal to candidates and political parties campaigning for votes in the European elections of 2019 to take inspiration from the younger generation, and by strengthening European citizenship, strengthen their prospects for the future and those of the European Union itself. This first transnational citizenship of the modern era is both popular and spreading in sharp contrast to the doom-laden scenarios of retreat to identity politics and nationalism.
