with Marie Simonsen, Task Force on Article 50, European Commission
Alberto Alemanno (tbc), Co-founder of The Good Lobby as moderator.

By chance, the second edition of the Summer University on European Citizenship has coincided with a new round of negotiations between the EU and the UK, which focus on recognition of professional qualifications, social security and frontier workers.

We therefore thought that participants and a wider audience should have the opportunity to hear from the Article 50 Task Force where matters stand. The Commission has kindly accepted this invitation. The discussion will be informal and off the record. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the next steps. The Position paper transmitted to the UK: essential principles on citizens’ rights by the European Commission (12 June 2017) and the Policy Paper on Safeguarding the position of EU citizens in the UK and UK nationals in the EU by the UK Government (26 June 2017) will form the background to the discussion.
